Evaluation from Digital Image 1

"I like your writing style, adding a personal edge to things is always entertaining to read. Technical blog is well rounded and decent personal reflection and interpretation which I really like. I wish there was more photography notes and practice shots that show some development and (not meaning to repeat myself but) practice. You mention that photographers everywhere are shouting at you, but I actually rather like the shadows there. Which brings me onto the final images, the black and white pictures are well exposed, decently composed and fit the brief really well, the colour images while they are a different lighting setup they just seem a bit of an after thought. The styling is exactly the same as the other shots, and they feel like they've had very little to no post production applied, which is a real shame. Especially so as your monochrome images are so strong."

For my first digital image images I was pleasantly happy with my images but know I could have made the make up more daring. I was pleased with my feedback, I know my images weren't perfect but for my first attempt I was really proud of what I did and I no feel like I've progressed to do better for next semester. I hope my writing skills are just as entertaining (hopefully even better this time). I am will definitely considering doing practise shots next semester as I feel like they will help me decide what is good and what I can change for the real shoot. I know to give myself more time to write my blog posts, as last time I spent two nights staying up till the early morning making sure I got them down (and I did it without coffee, so I am proud of that).
Overall I feel like I have learnt so much from just one semester and already learnt from my mistakes. I can't wait to start the new project to learn new lighting set ups with Chris and use my new improved skills to the test.
